Nadi Chess Club has been the heart of chess in Fiji’s Western Division since 2015. We welcome players of every age and skill level — from children picking up their first pawn to competitive players chasing national titles. Our mission is simple: use the game of chess to sharpen minds, build community, and put Nadi on the chess map.
New to chess? Start here. The Beginner’s Path covers everything from how the pieces move through to basic tactics, simple endgames, and the principles of good opening play. By the end of this course you will be able to play a full game confidently and understand why each move matters.
Topics include: piece values and movement, check and checkmate patterns, basic tactics (forks, pins, skewers), opening principles, simple endgames (King + Rook vs. King), and reading a basic position.
From your very first move to master-level preparation, our courses are structured to give you exactly the skills you need at exactly the right time. Each level builds on the last, guided by experienced coaches who know what it takes to improve.
Ready to sharpen your game? The Intermediate Level dives into positional understanding, deeper tactical themes, and structured opening repertoire building. Ideal for players who have mastered the basics and are ready to start competing seriously.
Topics include: pawn structures, piece coordination, tactical combinations (discovered attacks, deflection, interference), endgame technique, common openings (e4 and d4 systems), and game annotation. |
Our advanced programme is for serious players aiming to compete at regional and national level. Working with FIDE-rated coaches, you will study grandmaster games, deepen your opening preparation, and develop a personal style of play.
